1. Who we are
YorDigital Skills is provided by Yordigital Services Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 03969580), "we". Our registered office address is on yordigital.com.
2. Business use only
YorDigital Skills is for organisations. By signing up you confirm you are acting for an organisation and not as a consumer, and that you may agree to these terms for it.
3. What it is
A practical check of everyday AI skills, marked automatically by AI against our published standards, with short practice exercises. Results are an indicative guide for training. They are not a qualification, certification or accreditation, and marks can be wrong. Do not use results as the only basis for any decision about a person's employment, such as hiring, pay, promotion, discipline or dismissal.
4. Price and payment
The first check, taken by the person who signs up, is free. Checking a team costs £15 per person a month paid monthly, or £144 per person a year paid yearly, at least 10 people, in advance by card through Stripe. Adding or removing people changes the price pro rata. Candidate checks cost £25 each, or less in packs, paid once in advance; a check is used when a candidate starts it, and comes back if they decline, never start within 14 days, or their answers cannot be marked. Unused candidate checks stay on your account while it is open and are lost if you delete it. Prices are shown without VAT while we are not VAT registered; if we register, VAT is added at the applicable rate. You can stop a subscription at any time; it then runs to the end of the period already paid. Payments are not refunded except where the law requires.
5. Candidate checks
If you use the service to assess job candidates: you decide whom to invite and how results are used; a person must review every result, and results must not be the only basis for any decision about a candidate; you must consider reasonable adjustments a candidate asks for, and be reachable through the reply address on their invitation; and you are responsible for having a lawful basis, for telling candidates how their data is used (our notice to them before they start helps with this), and for any data protection impact assessment. A job description you add only tailors the report; it never changes the tasks or marks. Candidate data is deleted 180 days after the invitation, or sooner if you delete it.
6. Your responsibilities
Only invite people you are entitled to invite, and tell them how their results are used. Ask them not to put confidential or personal information about others into their answers. Keep the private links safe: anyone with a link can use it.
7. Data protection
For the people you invite, you are the controller and we are your processor. We process their names, email addresses, answers and results only to provide the service on your instructions; keep it confidential and secure; use other processors only under terms giving the same protection, and tell you by email before any change to them, so you can object (today: OVHcloud for hosting, Anthropic for the assistant and AI marking, our email provider, and Stripe for payments); help you answer requests from the people concerned and meet your security and breach obligations; give you what you need to show compliance; and delete everything when the service ends (90 days after a subscription ends, or straight away if you delete your account). Team members see their own work and feedback; you see their scores, not their work. For candidates you see their conversation with the assistant, finished work and answers, marks, timing, and the report. Answers are not used to train AI.
8. Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit or business, or decisions made using results, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes and ending
We may change the service or these terms; we will email you 30 days before a change that affects you badly, and you may stop before it applies. We may suspend or end the service for misuse or non-payment.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
